4 easy ways to get stock for your Depop Shop

In this article we will discuss 4 easy ways to get stock for your Depop shop. These sources are perfect if you are just starting out or simply looking for new ways to source stock and diversify your Depop shop.

1. Your own wardrobe

If you are just starting to sell clothes on Depop, going through your wardrobe and clearing out any clothes you no longer wear can be a great way to get new stock for your Depop shop! This is an easy way to get new stock as this requires no investment and will give you valuable sales experience if you are just starting out on Depop. You can also take this idea further and ask friends or family if they have any clothes that they no longer want. Either pay them a little for the clothes or take them off their hands for free! You can also offer to sell your friends clothes for them. However if you are doing this make sure you are taking a cut as you don’t want to spend all your time making money for other people.

2. Wholesalers

Another way way to get new stock for your Depop business is through vintage clothing wholesalers. When buying from wholesalers there are usually two options; buying through handpick or buying bales or bundles online.

Handpicking

Handpicking is a good way to source stock as you can go down to the warehourse and pick out the clothes yourself. This means you know exactly what you are buying so you can ensure you are getting the right sort of items for your shop at a price that suits you. However, most wholesalers have a minimum spend meaning this not be suitable for you if you have a small budget. We definitely wouldn’t reccommend hand picking to new sellers as it can be a big investment and, when you are a smaller business, wholesalers usually won’t save you the best stock.

Bales / bundles

Alternatively, buying bales or bundles from wholesalers can be a great way to get stock for your Depop shop. When buying a bale, there are loads of options including both branded and unbranded items. Getting in a bale can be an exciting way to source stock as it is unopened by the wholesaler so you could get anything! Make sure to do your research when buying from wholesalers and stay away from “Depop starter bundles” as they are usually very overpriced for what you recieve!
